“A Democracy Divided”
Because we love what we do, and the walls of our world are graced with many of these custom creations, we thought our fellow lovers of “book cover art” might enjoy this fine art print as well. Whether displayed in a hallway, the kitchen, or your office, it is a visceral reminder of life’s possibilities when storytelling and visual art merge.
The initial cover ideas generated from Ralph Long’s poems in A Democracy Divided, revolved around the Statue of Liberty, as well as the Union being divided. One ideal led to another, mostly playing with the new divisional cliche, Red v. Blue, the separation of opinion. That pulled the concept in a direction of a more emotional symbol of our freedom, the bald eagle, crying for our democracy, the tear clearly red and blue.
