The Poeming Pigeon
From Pandemic to Protest
When the world came to a stop, poets picked up their pens. From a global pandemic to the Black Lives Matter protests; from a highly contested election to murder hornets; and from devastating wildfires to deadly disasters, these poems not only share the truth of what we endured, they reveal the heartbreak, frustration, and anger, tempered by our resiliency and hope for a better tomorrow.

This collection captures the angst, the anger, the pain and the resilience inspired by the events of 2020. And even though the work continues on both the protest and pandemic fronts, I find it’s not too early to take stock of all we’ve been through. The book is beautifully curated and produced, and I’m honored to be included. Thanks to everyone who contributed and worked on it.

Wow…what an inspiring collection of poems — I just can’t put this book down! The varied experiences captured by the poets in this collection keep me turning pages and coming back for more. Pain, solitude, longing, disbelief and hope are all found here, Thank you, Poetry Box team and all the contributing poets, for documenting these difficult times.
